Mat Marrash

Traveling across the Eastern seaboard of the United States, I'm documenting the last in a dying breed of independently owned barbershops. All images shot on B&W 8x10" film.

Using an 8x10" view camera and one last box of Polaroid 809 film, I'm dedicating each of 15 unique exposures to those near and far that directly effect my work.

Using all the same materials as were used during Civil War times, I'm creating direct positive images on an 8x10" piece of glass that will last a lifetime!

Beyond the visible spectrum of light, the world has an entirely new appearance in B&W infrared. All images made with an 8x10" view camera.
