B&W Darkroom Intro

The course made for those that've never gotten their hands wet, B&W darkroom intro will cover B&W photography, from developing negatives, to contact printing, and finally printing the finished image. Under Mat's supervision, each student will have the opportunity to:

  • Hand process their own B&W films
  • Evaluate their negatives on a light table
  • Make contact sheets of their negatives
  • Enlarge their negatives onto photographic paper
  • Go home with at least 2*, finished B&W fine art prints

All darkroom equipment, enlargers, trays, chemicals, gloves, paper, etc., will be provided for students, all you have to do is show up with an exposed roll (or two) of B&W film. Students are encouraged to bring rolls of film in any format they prefer, Mat can accomodate any film formats up to and including 8x10".

Experience Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Students must have a basic understanding of their camera, as many of these teachings carry over well into the darkroom.

Tuition: $150 (includes facilities, chemistry, and paper)
